How long does paint correction last?

Paint correction removes or reduces defects in the clear coat. The improvement does not simply wash off, but new swirl marks can return quickly if the vehicle is washed or dried badly.

What affects durability

  • Washing technique
  • Drying method
  • Outdoor storage
  • Mileage and road use
  • Type of protection applied
  • Quality of ongoing maintenance

How to preserve the result

Use safe hand washing, clean microfibre towels and suitable products. Avoid automatic brush washes and dry wiping. Wax, sealant or ceramic protection can make maintenance easier but cannot prevent all scratches.

When another polish may be needed

A maintenance polish may be useful when gloss reduces or light defects return. Repeated aggressive correction should be avoided because every cutting stage removes a small amount of clear coat.
